The Hunger Games has remained at the top of the UK box office for a second week, despite good performances from Wrath of the Titans and The Pirates! In an Adventure with Scientists.

The adaptation has dominated the box office both side of the Atlantic and it took a further £2.9 million to stay at #1.

The film has now taken £9.8 million in the first two weeks in the UK alone.

Wrath of the Titans was the highest new entry at number two as it took £2.19 million in it's opening weekend.

The movie comes two years after Clash of the Titans and sees Sam Worthington reprise the role of Perseus.

The Pirates! In an Adventure with Scientists is the latest project from Aardman Animations and is new at number three.

Taking £2.17 million this weekend the movie narrowly missed out on the number two spot.

21 Jump Street was down two at number four while StreetDance 2 was the third new entry inside the top five at number five.

The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel, which has now been inside the top ten for six weeks, The Devil Inside, We Bought A Zoo and Contraband were all down three.

While Into The Abyss was the fourth and final new entry rounding off the top ten,
