The Lone Ranger has FINALLY begun filming.
Cameras started rolling on the troubled project yesterday - at one point it looked like this movie was never going to see the light of day.
Gore Verbinski, who won an Oscar at the weekend for his work on Rango, is in the director's chair while Ted Elliott and Terry Rossio have penned the script.
The movie sees Verbinski once again reunite with Johnny Depp, having worked on the first three Pirates of the Caribbean movies and Rango together.
The Oscar nominated actor takes on the role of Tonto in the movie while Armie Hammer plays The Lone Ranger.
Helena Bonham Carter, Barry Pepper, Tom Wilkinson and James Badge Dale are also on the cast list.
The movie has been penned in for a 31 May 2013 release.
