Despite facing competition from Saw VI and Fantastic Mr Fox Pixar's latest movie Up comfortably held onto the number one spot for a third week.

The movie grossed a further £3.8 million, taking it's UK gross to £19.6 million as Pixar continued to work it's magic on the big screen.

Despite being on it's sixth movie Saw fans flocked to see the latest instalment as the horror franchise opened at two.

Special Agent Strahm is dead, and Detective Hoffman has emerged as the unchallenged successor to Jigsaw's legacy. However, when the FBI draws closer to Hoffman, he is forced to set a game into motion, and Jigsaw's grand scheme is finally understood.

However it was a close run thing for second and third place as Fantastic Mr Fox, which opened London Film Festival was right behind.

But it was Saw VI that claimed the second spot with a gross of £1.7 million and Fantastic Mr Fox, which is directed by Wes Anderson, grossed £1.5 million.

Couples Retreat fell two places from two to four and Cirque Du Freak: The Vampire's Assistant was a new entry to round off the top five.

It was a three place drop for Heath Ledger's The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus as it dropped outside the top five to six.
