Will Smith

Will Smith has described Django Unchained as one of the most amazing screenplays that he has ever read.

The actor was on Quentin Tarantino's radar for the central role of Django but the actor revealed that because of his commitments to Men In Black III he was unable to meet with the director to talk about the movie.

Speaking to Empire the actor said: "I came really close, it was one of the most amazing screenplays I had ever ever seen.

"I was in the middle of 'Men In Black 3' and [Tarantino] was ready to go, and I just couldn't sit with him and get through the issues, so I didn't want to hold him up.

"That thing's going to be ridiculous. It is a genius screenplay."

The role of Django eventually went to Oscar winner Jamie Foxx while Leonardo DiCaprion and Christoph Waltz are also on the cast list.

As for Smith he is currently riding high with Men In Black III which has already passed the $500 million mark at the global box office.

Smith is set to team up with M. Night Shyamalan for his next movie After Earth which will also star Isabelle Fuhrman and Jaden Smith.
