John Krasinski sits in the director’s chair for upcoming modern horror A Quiet Place, telling the story of a family of four who must live their lives in complete silence after mysterious creatures threaten their survival. Using sound to hunt, the beasts will track down anything they hear, leading to some of the most unique and toe-curling scenes of horror film history. All of that we’ve learned from the new trailer alone, which you can now watch below:

Bryan Woods, Scott Beck and director Krasinski worked on the screenplay for the movie, from a story written by Woods and Beck, and the movie has got some brilliant stars.

Krasinski, not content with simply directing, executive producing and writing the flick, takes on one of the leading roles in the film, alongside the brilliant Emily Blunt and some fantastic child actors, including Noah Jupe, Millicent Simmonds and Cade Woodward.

Set to premiere at the South by Southwest Film Festival on March 9 of this year, it’s going to be very interesting to see how the critics respond to this horror. It’s certainly got a unique selling point, and seeing whether or not the performances are enough to carry a film which we imagine has little to no dialogue is going to be an incredibly compelling experience for viewers!

A Quiet Place is expected to come to cinemas across the UK later this year, following its scheduled US release date of April 6, 2018.
