Directed by Paul Feig and promising to be a “stylish post-modern film noir” comes A Simple Favour, starring Anna Kendrick as mommy blogger Stephanie; a woman who hopes to uncover the truth surrounding her best friend Emily’s (Blake Lively) sudden disappearance from their small town. Joined by her husband Sean (Henry Golding) in the thriller, the pair will do their all to discover exactly what has happened to Emily, as twists, betrayals, secrets, revelations, love, loyalty, murder and revenge take centre-stage.

This week, a fantastic new trailer for the movie has been unveiled, showcasing just some of the action and mystery we should expect from the flick. Check it out below:

Based on the novel of the same name by Darcey Bell, A Simple Favour is written by Jessica Sharzer, and also stars the likes of Ian Ho, Joshua Satine, Linda Cardellini, Eric Johnson, Jean Smart, Rupert Friend, Sarah Baker, and Andrew Rannells.

Production first started on the film on August 14, 2017 in Toronto, Ontario, Canada, and fans of the original book have been looking forward to seeing how the adaptation does when it hits the big screen for some time. Whether or not Feig and Sharzer will remain loyal to the novel remains to be seen, but if changes to films such as this one are anything to go by in the past, the pair would be better off sticking with the original story.

A Simple Favour comes to cinemas across the UK on September 21, 2018.
