Aaron Paul is in talks for the big screen adaptation of the Stephen King novel The Dark Tower.

Paul has been linked to the role of Eddie Dean and has revealed that he has sat down with director Ron Howard to discuss the project.

Speaking to Ain't it Cool News, the actor said: "I've had a ton of meetings on that. I just had a general sit down with Ron Howard, who is a huge fan of the show [Breaking Bad], which is such a crazy thing to even think that Ron Howard even knows who I am.

"They're definitely planning on making it. I'm excited. Their goal is to do three films, but also have a television element to it, which will be very interesting. From what I hear, Eddie Dean is a pretty epic, iconic character."

Paul is the only actor that is currently linked to The Dark Tower project.

Paul is best known for his work on TV series Breaking Bad, but we are going to be seeing plenty of him on the big screen this year.

Need For Speed is set to be his major film release of the year, however, he has completed work on Exodus, A Long Way Down and Hellion.

The Dark Tower was stalled in pre-production when Universal studios dropped the project, however Warner Bros. expressed interest in August 2012, but passed a few weeks later.

Howard later confirmed it was a working progress and they still had plans to create the Western.
