Aaron Paul has described the chance of working with director Ridley Scott as a ‘huge dream.’

Paul teams up with Scott for the first time on new film Exodus: Gods and Kings, which also sees the actor star alongside Christian Bale, Joel Edgerton, Ben Kingsley, and Sigourney Weaver, and he has called Scott a ‘legend’.

Speaking to Collider, the actor said: "It's really everything you would think it would be. It's such a huge dream of mine; he's just such a legendary director, a legendary man with a legendary story.

"I grew up reading the Bible, my father was a Southern Baptist Minister so I know the book of Exodus and so this is just such an incredible thing."

Exodus: Gods and Kings is the first film for Scott since The Counsellor, and tells the bible story of Moses rising up again Pharaoh Ramses and leading the slaves out of Egypt.

The movie will contain the well-known parting of the Red Sea moment, and Paul admits that this was his favourite day on set. He continued: "When we were parting the Red Sea, it was a time I will never forget. It was just such an epic, crazy thing. It was in the Canary Islands; gorgeous.

"And the sea and how they were creating the current to move that it actually looked like the sea was being pulled out. They had 20 jet-skis lined up in a row just creating current, thousands of extras all looking very biblical.”

We have already seen Paul star in Need For Speed and A Long Way Down in what has been a very successful year for the actor. And we are going to be seeing plenty of him in 2015, as he has already completed work on Triple Nine, Fathers and Daughters, and Eye In The Sky.

Triple Nine will see him part of another all-star cast as Kate Winslet, Woody Harrelson, Casey Affleck, Chiwetel Ejiofor, and Anthony Mackie are just some of the names on board the John Hillcoat directed film. Fathers and Daughters will see him team up with director Gabriele Muccino and Russell Crowe, while Gavin Hood is back at the helm for war drama Eye In the Sky.

Exodus: Gods and Kings is released 26th December.
