Charlize Theron returns to the big screen this August with her brand new spy thriller flick, Atomic Blonde. Following the most lethal assassin on offer from MI6, Agent Lorraine Broughton (Theron), we’ll see the crime-fighter tasked with deploying all of her skills on a near-impossible mission.

Sent into Berlin alone to deliver a dossier out of the destabilised city, she partners up with embedded station chief David Percival (James McAvoy) before navigating her way through the deadliest challenge she’s ever faced. Using spycraft, savagery and sensuality to get one up on the enemy, the film will showcase sleek action, style and gritty sexuality.

David Leitch (John Wick) sits in the director’s chair for the movie, which also stars John Goodman, Til Schweiger, Eddie Marsan, Sofia Boutella and Toby Jones. Atomic Blonde is based on the Oni Press graphic novel The Coldest City by Antony Johnston and illustrator Sam Hart.

Kurt Johnstad wrote the screenplay for the film, with Theron joining Beth Kono, AJ Dix, Kelly McCormick, Eric Gitter and Peter Schwerin as producers. Executive producers include Nick Meyer, Marc Shaberg, Joe Nozemack, Steven V. Scavelli, Ethan Smith, David Guillod and Kurt Johnstad.

Atomic Blonde hits cinemas across the UK on Friday August 11, 2017.
