Avengers: Age of Ultron has held on to the #1 spot at the U.S. box office as it took $77 million over the weekend.

Age of Ultron has dominated the box office for a second week and see off all of the competition to easily stay at the top of the box office.

The movie has now grossed in excess of $894 million worldwide and is quickly closing in on the billion dollar mark - it would be the second movie to achieve that feat this year.

Hot Pursuit was the highest and only new entry inside the top ten this week as the comedy opened at number two. The movie sees Reese Witherspoon team up with Sofia Vergara for the first time, while Anne Fletcher is back in the director's chair.

There was no move for The Age of Adaline this week, as it stayed put at number three. Fast & Furious 7 was down two places from two to four.

Paul Blart: Mall Cop 2 continues to put in a solid performance at the box office, as it dropped just a single place to round off the top five.

Ex Machina was one of two movies that was on the up this week as it jumped from seven to six. Home fell out of the top five for the first time as it slipped two places from five to number seven.

Woman In Gold was up two places from last week's number ten to this week's number eight, while Cinderella was the biggest faller on the chart. The former #1 movie fell three places from six to number eight.

Unfriended rounded off the top ten this week as it slipped two places of number eight.
