The Factory has revealed the dramatic poster for upcoming Cold War drama, Firebird, which will hit cinemas in January next year (2022).

War films have always been popular, as films such as Saving Private Ryan (1998) and the more recent Dunkirk (2017) bringing audiences into the cinema. The deep, impactful nature of this genre will always interest fans because there is always a different story to be told.

At the peak of the Cold War, an anxious soldier forms a forbidden love triangle with a daring fighter pilot and his female comrade in the midst the terrifying, dangerous surroundings of a Soviet Air Force Base.

Based on a true story, Firebird is a charming, deep love story made even more emotional by the ever-present threat of the Cold War.

Sergey (Tom Prior) is a troubled young private who is counting down the days until the end of his military service. However, when Roman (Oleg Zagorodnii) turns up at the base, Sergey’s life takes a vastly different turn.

Young Sergey’s curiosity gets the better of him, as he and Roman traverse the perilous line between love and friendship, while a somewhat dangerous love triangle forms between the two men and Luisa (Diana Pozharskaya), the base Commander’s secretary.

Roman’s career becomes endangered, Luisa struggles with keeping her family together as Sergey’s past creeps up on him.

The walls are closing in on them, and so the unlikely trio risk their freedom, and their lives, in the face of an escalating KGB investigation, and the terror of the ever-observant Soviet regime.

The poster for Firebird is well-designed, intriguing image as it shows the main trio in the spotlight, while highlighting Prior’s Sergey in the middle.

The plot for this movie definitely stands out, as love and war don’t usually mix; the cast fit the bill, the narrative has a fresh yet still dangerous feel to it, and since it is likely there will always be a market for War movies, Firebird is set to make a mark all of its own.

Firebird will be in cinemas on January 28th, 2022.
