Brie Larson reveals that she has already started preparing for her role as Captain Marvel... she is reading the classic comics.

Earlier this summer it was announced that the Oscar-winner had seen off some tough competition to land the role of Captain Marvel, which will be the first solo female film for Marvel.

And Larson took to Twitter to show that she is already hard at work preparing for the part.

The Captain Marvel movie will not hit the big screen until 2019 but we may see the character make her debut appearance in the upcoming Avengers double bill - the cast list for the film is yet to be announced.

Currently, Larson is the only name on the cast list for the Captain Marvel film, which is based on the comic book Gene Colan and Roy Thomas.

2016 has already been a hugely successful year for Larson, who won the Best Actress Oscar for her role in Room back in February; it was the first Oscar nomination of her career.

Her performance in the film earnt her critical acclaim and has sent her star rocketing.

She has already completed work on Basmati Blues, Free Fire, and The Glass Castle - if you are a Larson fan, you are going to be seeing plenty of her in the coming months.

The actress has also tackled the big budget blockbuster for the first time as she starred alongside Tom Hiddleston in Kong: Skull Island.

The King Kong origins movie will hit the big screen at the beginning of 2017, but the first trailer was released at Comic-Con earlier this summer.
