Saoirse Ronan has been an exciting acting talent since she burst onto the scene with Atonement and now she is back with her new film Brooklyn - and whipping up quite a storm.

Brooklyn

Brooklyn has been winning over the critics ever since the film premiered at the Sundance Film Festival at the beginning of the year and Ronan is receiving rave reviews for her central performance.

The movie is based on the novel of the same name by Colm Tóibín and sees John Crowley back in the director's chair. This is the first time that Ronan has teamed up with the filmmaker and you can see her in action in this brand new teaser trailer:

Brooklyn brings together a mighty impressive cast as Emory Cohen, Domhnall Gleeson, Jim Broadbent, and Julie Walters will all star alongside Ronan - Brooklyn really does have one of the most exciting cast lists of the autumn.

Brooklyn is the story of Eilis, a young woman who moves from small-town Ireland to Brooklyn, NY where she strives to forge a new life for herself, finding work and first love in the process. When a family tragedy brings her back to Ireland, she finds herself confronting a terrible dilemma - a heart-breaking choice between two men and two countries.

Brooklyn is already being tipped as a potential major Oscar contender - with many believing that Ronan will be in the Best Actress mix for her central performance. Should she bag a nomination, this would be the first Best Actress nod of her career. However, she is no stranger to the Oscar race, having picked up a Best Supporting Actress nomination for her work in Atonement.

Brooklyn is released 6th November.
