Bruce Willis says he had no idea that Die Hard would be a bit when the first film was released back in 1988.

Last week saw the actor reprise the character for the fifth film in the franchise that comes twenty five years after the first.

Speaking to USA Today the actor said: "Did I think at the time that 25 years later I would still be making these films?

You should call the President of the United States and ask him what's going to happen 25 years from now.

"No-one has any idea [about what will be a hit]."

A Good Day To Die Hard is the first film in the franchise to be set outside of the U.S. and while it has not gone down well with critics it has done well at the box office in the first weekend.

A Good Day To Die Hard kicks off a busy and action packed year for Willis as we are going to be seeing him star in G.I. Joe: Retaliation and Red 2.

He is currently film Sin City: A Dame To Die For as he reprises the role of John Hartigan.
