Armie Hammer and Timothée Chalamet are having the time of their lives in a brand new preview clip for new romantic film Call Me By Your Name, based on the novel of the same name by André Aciman. Check it out below:

Based in northern Italy and taking place in the summer of 1983, the film sees young 17-year-old Elio Perlman (Chalamet) enjoying his days in his family’s seventeenth century villa. Transcribing music and flirting with his close friend Marzia, his world is turned upside down when charming 24-year-old American scholar Oliver arrives, hoping to work on his doctorate at the Italian escape, whilst tasked with helping Ezio’s father (Michael Stuhlbarg) as the summer intern.

The setting is a beautiful one and amidst it, Elio and Oliver begin to discover an awakened desire over the course of the summer that they would never have predicted; a longing for each other that has the opportunity to change both of their lives forever.

Also starring Amira Casar and Esther Garrel, Call Me By Your Name has some lofty expectations surrounding it following the popularity and success of the original story, told in Aciman’s novel. Thankfully, if the reviews currently sitting on Rotten Tomatoes are anything to go by, the film should offer a transcendent tale of first love and sexuality. Certified fresh with a cumulative score of 97% on the reviews aggregate website at time of writing, we’re sure this is something that will tick all of the boxes not only for those familiar with the story, but for those who are dipping their toes into the waters of this new romance for the first time.

Luca Guadagnino serves as director on the movie, working on a screenplay by James Ivory.

Call Me By Your Name is available to see in cinemas across the UK now.
