Captain America: The Winter Soldier

Captain America: The Winter Soldier has gone head to head with Muppets Most Wanted this weekend, and come out top of the box office.

The Winter Soldier is the second stand alone film for this popular character, and sees Chris Evans reprise the role. Anthony and Joe Russo have also taken over the director's chair.

This is the first of two Marvel films this year, and it took just over £6 million this weekend, to hold off the challenge from Muppets Most Wanted.

Muppets Most Wanted performed well in its opening weekend, taking over £2.2 million. However, the film had to settle for second place.

The Grand Budapest Hotel was down two place at three, while Non-Stop was up one from five to four this week.
