Mystery movies have always been popular; the thrill of seeing a police chase or figuring out who did what... But the whodunit genre, which lies within the broader ideas of mystery and crime, is a specific and exhilarating kind of film that can really set the bar high.

The completed film, titled See How They Run, is directed by BAFTA award-winning director Tom George, with producers Damian Jones and Gina Carter. The feature is based on an original screenplay by Mark Chappell.

Shot in historic London spots earlier this year (2021), including the Dominion Theatre, St. Martin’s Theatre, and the Old Vic Theatre.

See How They Run stars Sam Rockwell (Jojo Rabbit, Iron Man 2) and Saoirse Ronan (Ladybird, Little Women) side-by-side, along with Adrian Brody (The Pianist, King Kong) and David Oyelowo (The Midnight Sky).

Despite not having a trailer for this feature just yet, the cast and the plot already sell this film; whodunit movies need more time in the spotlight, and See How They Run seems set to bring new life to this idea.

The plot for the movie is highly intriguing, and its early London setting will no doubt provide even more mystery, and create the ideal location for a murder mystery to take place.

In the 1950s, in the West End of London, plans for a film version of a smash-hit play come to a halt after a (very important) member of the crew is murdered.

Inspector Stoppard (Rockwell), a tired and weary man, along with eager and case-ready Constable Stalker (Ronan) take on the case.

The pair find themselves thrown in at the deep end, as they become involved in a mysterious and challenging whodunit. The glamorous underground theatre provides them with a case like never before, and delving further into the homicide puts them in harms way.

While we have little more to go on that this synopsis, See How They Run still appears to be a new and unique feature that will be adored by audiences.

The paring of Rockwell and Ronan will definitely be interesting to see, and their characters are the classic couple of eager rookie and seasoned cop; their dynamic should be fun and exciting to watch.

The cast also includes names such as Ruth Wilson, Reece Shearsmith, Sian Clifford, Charlie Cooper, and Harris Dickinson.

See How They Run plans to hit cinemas sometime next year (2022).
