Chloe Moretz has revealed that she danced to Abba on the set of Carrie to cheer herself up.

Moretz is back on the big screen this week as she takes on the title role in the remake of the horror classic.

And while there were difficult time during making this film, Moretz admits that she does enjoy tackling dark characters.

Speaking to The Daily Star she said: She told The Daily Star newspaper: "To be honest, I just like dark characters,

"Those roles can get you down a bit but I can always cheer myself up afterwards. Working out helps, but mostly I cheer myself up by playing ABBA.

"When I was doing Carrie, my mum caught me on video on the kitchen table, still in my blood-soaked robe, jumping around to Dancing Queen."

Carrie was originally released back in 1976, but it is Kimberly Peirce who is now putting her stamp on the Stephen King classic.

Moretz will star alongside Julianne Moore in the film, while Gabriella Wilde and Alex Russell are also on aboard.

Carrie is the first time that we have see Moretz on the big screen since she reprised the role of Hit Girl in Kick Ass 2 this summer.

Carrie is out now.
