David C. Anderson, an assistant director on three classic James Bond movies, has died, aged 72.
Anderson, who had battled cancer, passed away after a short illness in Richmond, England, on 4 August (13), according to The Hollywood Reporter.
He kicked off his career as the assistant director on the 007 films Dr No, From Russia With Love, and Thunderball, and went on to serve as a movie producer and production executive in films and TV series including The Saint throughout his six-decade career.
He was the son of filmmaker Michael Anderson, who directed Around the World in Eighty Days, The Dam Busters and Logan's Run.
