Universal Pictures UK this morning released the first official trailer for upcoming action thriller Skyscraper, following the teaser’s debut at the Super Bowl this past weekend. You can check out the brilliant action-packed video below:
Directed and written by Rawson Marshall Thurber, Skyscraper brings together an all-star cast including Dwayne Johnson, Pablo Schreiber, Neve Campbell and Roland Møller, telling a story like none the cinema has ever seen in the past.
Johnson takes on the role of a former FBI hostage rescue team leader and US war veteran called Will Ford, whose sole focus now is to check on the security of skyscrapers. Going to China as part of his work, he begins to realise that somebody very powerful is framing him for turning the tallest, safest building in the world into a towering inferno.
Not only forced to clear his name, Ford must find those responsible for making him a target of the authorities AND rescue his family who are trapped inside the very building that’s on fire, above the fire line.
Set to light up movie theatres this summer, Skyscraper is produced by Johnson alongside Beau Flynn, Hiram Garcia and Thurber. Executive producers come in the form of Dany Garcia, Wendy Jacobson, Eric Hedayat and Eric McLeod.
Those who have worked on bringing the film to the masses will be hoping that Johnson’s star power as one of the highest earners in the movie business and most popular actors around will see big bucks made in the box office. The proof will of course be in the pudding, but we’re sure this dose of action will be what everybody’s looking for when they get their Johnson fix this coming July.
Skyscraper comes to cinemas across the UK on Friday, July 13, 2018, from Universal Pictures.
