Everest

I have been looking forward to seeing a new trailer for Everest for some time, and it really does promise to be a nerve-shredding watch.

Directed by Baltasar Kormákur, Everest is based on the incredible true story of trying to reach the summit of the world's highest mountain, and is the first film for the director since 2 Guns back in 2013.

Kormákur has assembled an impressive cast list as : Jason Clarke, Josh Brolin, John Hawkes, Robin Wright, Michael Kelly, Sam Worthington, Keira Knightley, Emily Watson and Jake Gyllenhaal are all set to star.

Everest is a movie that really does look set to be a very tense ride and the brand new trailer is here:

It may be June and three months until Everest is set to hit the big screen, but this is a movie that is already being tipped as a possible Oscar contender.

We all know how much the Academy loves a true story - not to mention all of the great talent that is on show; a handful of who have been Oscar nominated before.

Inspired by the incredible events surrounding an attempt to reach the summit of the world's highest mountain, Everest documents the awe-inspiring journey of two different expeditions challenged beyond their limits by one of the fiercest snowstorms ever encountered by mankind.

Their mettle tested by the harshest elements found on the planet, the climbers will face nearly impossible obstacles as a lifelong obsession becomes a breathtaking struggle for survival.

There are some terrific looking movies heading our way this autumn, and Everest looks set to be another that is not to be missed.

Everest is released 24th September.
