Miller is set to take on the role of the Flash for the first time in the Justice League as the character Barry Allen joins the DC movie world.

Filming is already underway on Justice League, which will hit the big screen next year, ahead of a solo Flash movie for Miller, which will be directed by Rick Famuyiwa.

Speaking to MTV News about the character, the actor said: "I think there's just an intention to make something extremely fun and something superhuman and something deeply human.

"It's the thing we're all trying to do, but I think Rick's mind and his heart are in an excellent place, and his expertise as a filmmaker, as evidenced by Dope, all come together as very exciting factors to me."

Miller made an appearance as the Flash in the first trailer for Justice League, which was unveiled at Comic-Con earlier this summer.

The movie sees Zack Snyder back in the director's chair - following on from his work on Man of Steel and Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice.

Henry Cavill, Ben Affleck, and Gal Gadot will return as Superman, Batman, and Wonder Woman while Jason Momoa, Amber Heard, and Ray Fisher will be introduced as Aquaman, Mera, and Cyborg.

Willem Dafoe, Jeremy Irons, and J.K. Simmons will complete a very exciting cast list.

As for Miller, this is set to be the biggest role of his career as he steps into a superhero franchise for the first time.

Miller has delivered some wonderful performances in the likes of The Perks of Being a Wallflower and We Need to Talk About Kevin in recent years, and he really is one of the best young actors around.

Before we see him in Justice League, the actor will be back on the big screen this autumn as part of the all-star cast of Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them.

Justice League is released 17th November 2017.
