Carey Mulligan is set to return to the big screen next spring in a brand new adaptation of Far From The Madding Crowd.

Far From The Madding Crowd is a new take on the Thomas Hardy classic, and sees Thomas Vinterberg return to the director's chair - this is his first film since the critically acclaimed The Hunt back in 2012.

Mulligan is set to take on the central role of Bathsheba Everdene in what promises to be another terrific performance from the already Oscar nominated actress.

The first teaser trailer for the movie has arrived and we have it for you to take a look at:

Mulligan leads an all-star cast as Juno Temple, Michael Sheen, Matthias Schoenaerts, and Tom Sturridge are just some of the terrific and talented names on board.

Far From The Madding Crowd follows Bathsheba and she develops relationships with three very different suitors: Sergeant Frank Troy, sheep farmer Gabriel Oak, and bachelor William Boldwood.

I am a huge fan of Mulligan - who has given some terrific performances in a range of different roles in recent years - and I am always excited to see what she delivers next.

It is the first time that we have seen her on the big screen since the success of Inside Llewyn Davis at the beginning of this year, and it is the first of two very exciting projects for her in 2015.

The second is Suffragette, which sees her team up with director Sarah Gavron for the first time.

Far From The Madding Crowd is released 1st May 2015.
