Fast & Furious 7 Storms To U.S. #1

Fast & Furious 7 has enjoyed a huge opening weekend at the U.S. box office as it has stormed to the #1 spot with £143 million.

Fast & Furious 7 is the first film in the franchise for two years and will be the final time that we see actor Paul Walker on the big screen. The actor - who has played Brian O'Conner since the first film - was killed in a car accident during the filming of the movie.

So far, the movie has grossed over $384 million in its opening weekend around the world, making it the fourth highest opening film of all time: outdone only by Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows - Part 2, Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince and Avengers Assemble.

Last week's number one Home slipped just a single place this weekend as it dropped from one to two - taking a further $27,4 million. Get Hard was also down a single place this week as it slipped to number three.

Cinderella continues to perform well and win over audiences, but it was down one place at four at the end of this weekend. The movie has now grossed in excess of $397 million at the global box office so far. Insurgent rounded off the top five, slipping two places of last week's number three.

It Follows was down one at six this week, while Woman In Gold was the second and final new entry inside the top ten this week at seven. The movie is based on the true story of one woman's fight to have a piece of family artwork returned to her and sees Helen Mirren team up with Ryan Reynolds for the first time.

Kingsman: The Secret Service was down two places from six to eight, while Do You Believe? Was also down two this week as it fell from seven to nine. The Second Best Exotic Marigold Hotel dropped just a single place as it rounded off the top ten.
