Finding Dory's reign at the top of the UK box office continues as it held off a strong challenge from Bad Moms over the weekend.

Finding Dory

Finding Dory toppled Suicide Squad last week to return to the number one spot and took a further £1.5 million to narrowly hold off the comedy.

The movie has now grossed over £35 million at the UK box office alone and has taken $930 million worldwide - it is currently the fourth highest-grossing film of the year.

Bad Moms was the highest new entry inside the top ten this week, opening at number two.

The comedy, which stars Mila Kunis, Kristen Bell, Kathryn Hahn and is directed by Jon Lucas and Scott Moore, took £1.4 million and was a major threat to the dominance of Finding Dory... however, it did fall a little short.

Suicide Squad slipped to number three while War Dogs and The Purge: Election Year were new entries at four and five.

The Purge: Election Year is the third film in the horror franchise and sees Frank Grillo back in the central role while James DeMonaco returns to the director's chair.

Jason Bourne slipped out of the top five for the first time as the movie fell from four to number six.

The BFG and horror film Lights Out were also down two as they finished the weekend at seven and eight.

David Brent: Life on the Road, which sees Ricky Gervais back in the title role, was this week's biggest faller as the movie fell from three to number nine.

Mechanic: Resurrection, which sees Jason Statham back as Arthur Bishop, was the fourth and final new entry at number ten.
