Set deep within the midst of 1950s Soviet Russia, the internal political landscape of the country was changing more than ever before, and with The Death Of Stalin, filmgoers are to delve into that world which is given a darkly comic form from Emmy Award-winning and Oscar-nominated writer and director, Armando Iannucci. You can check out the first official trailer for the flick below:

Taking place days after Stalin had been removed from power, the team of ministers that once surrounding him begin to battle for control, each with their own motives, whether they be positive for the Soviet Union or a little more sinister.

Brilliant cast members include Steve Buscemi, Michael Palin, Jeffrey Tambor, Jason Isaacs, Rupert Friend, Simon Russell Beale, Andrea Riseborough, Paddy Considine and Olga Kurylenko.

Combining comedy with politics, drama and pathos, The Death Of Stalin is produced by Yann Zenou, Kevin Loader, Nicolas Duval Assakovsky and Laurent Zeitoun. Iannucci wrote the script with David Schneider and Ian Martin, with Peter Fellows providing additional material.

The Death Of Stalin hits cinemas across the UK on October 20, 2017.
