Plenty of mystery has surrounded Rami Malek's villainous character Safin in the upcoming James Bond movie, No Time to Die. Though many of his cards are still being kept close to the chest, Universal Pictures have given their closest look yet at what audiences should expect from the star when he takes to the big screen in the role, in a brand new video feature that you can watch below:

"What I really wanted for Safin was to make him unsettling; thinking of himself as heroic," Malek explains as he speaks directly to-camera. "Safin is a formidable adversary. James Bond has to adapt to that."

"What he wants and what he's willing to do, makes him a very frightening character both personally to Bond but also on a global level," adds director Cary Joji Fukunaga, who worked on a screenplay he co-created with Phoebe Waller-Bridge, Neal Purvis and Robert Wade.

Despite Bond leaving active service and hoping to enjoy a peaceful life in Jamaica, he's quickly pulled back into the chaos of the secret service when his old friend Felix Leiter (Jeffrey Wright) from the CIA turns up, asking for his help.

What begins as a mission to rescue a kidnapped scientist however, soon turns out to be Bond's most dangerous mission yet, as he's pushed onto the trail of Safin who's armed with terrifying new technology and a nefarious plan to "cleanse" the world.
