American Hustle

12 Years A Slave and American Hustle have dominated the Golden Globe nominations as they have picked up seven nods a piece.

The two movies - which are expected to be major players in the Oscar race - have picked up Best Picture nominations, but they will not to head to head.

12 Years A Slave will battle it out in the Best Motion Picture - Drama category alongside Captain Phillips, Gravity, Philomena and Rush.

While American Hustle is in the Best Motion Picture - Comedy/Musical category with Her, Inside Llewyn Davis, Nebraska and The Wolf of Wall Street.

Chiwetel Ejiofor, Michael Fassbender and Lupita N’yongo have picked up Best Actor In A Motion Picture Drama, Best Supporting Actor and Best Supporting Actress nominations.

There was also a nod for Steve McQueen in the Best Director category; he will compete against Alfonso Cuaron (Gravity), Paul Greengrass (Captain Phillips), Alexander Payne (Nebraska_ and David O.Russell (American Hustle).

Christian Bale, Amy Adams, Bradley Cooper and Jennifer Lawrence all picked up acting nods for their roles in American Hustle.

The other big performers with Nebraska with five nominations; including Best Actor in a Comedy/Musical for Bruce Dern. While Captain Phillips picked up four; including a nod for Tom Hanks.

The Best Actress In A Motion Picture - Drama is set to be a closely competed category as Cate Blanchett (Blue Jasmine), Sandra Bullock (Gravity), Judi Dench (Philomena), Emma Thompson (Saving Mr Banks) and Kate Winslet (Labour Day) are all in the mix.
