Goosebumps

Goosebumps may not have been met with critical acclaim, but that hasn't stopped fans flocking to see the latest Jack Black film, which sees him take on the role of author R.L. Stine.

The movie took £2.6 million in its opening weekend and brought the reign of The Revenant to an end. Dad's Army was the second of three new entries on the chart this week and opened at number two.

The movie is a remake of the classic television show and sees Toby Jones, Bill Nighy, and Tom Courtenay on board and taking over some of the most iconic roles.

The movie grossed just over £2 million this weekend to finish in second and not too far behind Goosebumps. After three weeks at the top, The Revenant slipped two places to this week's number three.

Comedy Dirty Grandpa was also down two this week to number four and there was no move for the hard hitting Spotlight, which stayed put at number five.

Star Wars: The Force Awakens fell out of the top five for the first time this weekend as it slipped three places to six. The Big Short was only a one place faller as it ended the weekend at number seven.

Ride Along 2 was this week's biggest faller as the comedy, which sees Kevin Hart reunite with Ice Cube, slipped four spots from four to number eight.

Point Break, which is a remake of the 1991 film by Kathryn Bigelow was the third and final new entry at number nine. Daddy's Home fell to places to round off the top ten.
