Jamie Lee Curtis makes her incredible return to the role of original ‘final girl’ Laurie Strode in this year’s Halloween. Of course, she’s not the only character from the franchise making a comeback; the villainous Michael Myers is also back on the scene, with an evil vendetta and a score to settle. This week, the first official trailer for the movie has been released, showcasing some of the chaos and gore we should expect upon the film’s premiere in October. Check it out below:

Creator John Carpenter is back on board for the sequel, serving as an executive producer and creative consultant on the movie, ensuring it is as close to the horror served up in the original as possible. Working alongside director David Gordon Green, who wrote the screenplay with Danny McBride and Jeff Fradley, the movie looks set to be a real success.

Doing away with the series’ history and simply following on from the original horror, Halloween will see Myers escape from the insane asylum that has housed him for decades. Strode is ready for his return however, and has been praying every day for the opportunity to finally take down her old adversary.

Whether or not she will be successful remains to be seen, but from what we’ve seen in the trailer, neither Myers or Strode are people to be messed with. With Strode’s daughter and granddaughter now also on the scene however, this story could have some tragic twists and turns.

Halloween comes to cinemas across the UK on October 19, 2018.
