Harrison Ford

Harrison Ford has described his cameo role in the Anchorman sequel as 'bizarre'.

The actor is set to play a newsreader in Anchorman 2: The Legend Continues and is one of the big new additions to the cast list.

And Ford says he hopes that his performance is different to anything that he has done before.

Speaking to Entertainment Tonight the actor said: "I hope it's a little different. One hates to repeat themselves.

"They asked me to do it, before they knew that I had done Morning Glory."

"It'd be easy enough to cut out. I don't think it's critical... [It was] bizarre.

"They weren't all in the scene that I did. It was just [Ferrell] and the applesauce girl [Applegate]."

Will Ferrell and Christina Applegate are just two of the familiar faces returning as Steve Carell and Paul Rudd are also back while Adam McKay is back in the director's chair.

2013 is set to be a busy year for Ford as we are also going to be seeing him in 42, Paranoia and Ender's Game.

Anchorman 2: The Legend Continues is released 20th December.
