Cavill is set to reprise the role of Superman this week as the highly anticipated Dawn of Justice hits the big screen. Affleck is the big new addition to the cast list as he takes over the role of Bruce Wayne.

Cavill was on the red carpet in London at the European premiere where he joked that there was some friendly competition between the two actors in terms of the training they did for their roles.

Speaking on the red carpet, Cavill said: "We trained in separate places so there was a bit of competition. When you saw Ben walk onto set, I had to try doubly hard in the gym the next day."

Dawn of Justice will be the second time that we have seen Cavill take on the role of Clark Kent; he made his debut with Man of Steel back in 2013.

This new film sees the British actor reunite with director Zack Snyder as well as actors Amy Adams, Diane Lane, and Laurence Fishburne, who are reprising their roles as Lois Lane, Martha Kent and Perry White.

Affleck is not the only big new addition to the cast list as we are also going to see Gal Gadot, Jesse Eisenberg, and Jeremy Irons debut as Wonder Woman, Lex Luthor, and Alfred.

Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice is one of the most anticipated films of 2016 and the early reviews for the movie have been very positive. 2016 is set to be a big year for the comic book film genre and it will be interesting to see which movie does come out on top at the box office by the end of the year.

Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice is released tomorrow.
