Directed by Jeremy Saulnier and written by Macon Blair comes suspenseful new psychological thriller Hold The Dark, releasing exclusively on Netflix in September of this year.

Today (August 21), the streaming service dropped a fantastic new trailer for the film, showcasing some of the madness we should expect when it does eventually release. You can check it out below:

Jeffrey Wright stars in the movie as retired naturalist and wolf expert Russell Core; a man who answers the call for help of Medora Slone (Riley Keough), following the death of her son, who was killed by a pack of wolves. With the pair doing all they can to track down the wolves responsible for her son's death, they form a strange and dangerous relationship.

The arrival of Medora's husband Vernon (Alexander Skarsgård) back from war adds a violent layer to proceedings. When he learns his child has been killed, he goes on a vengeful rampage, with local cop Donald Marium (James Badge Dale) assigned the case and given the goal of stopping him in his tracks.

With darkness lurking, audiences are set to go on an eerie ride with each of the characters; is it possible they all make it out of their journey alive?

Russell Ackerman, John Schoenfelder, Eva Maria Daniels, Neil Kopp and Anish Savjani all serve as producers on the movie.

Hold The Dark premieres globally on Netflix on September 28, 2018.
