Thought to be the final entry into the popular animated series, How To Train Your Dragon: The Hidden World has some lofty expectations to live up to. Seeing Hiccup and Toothless back together again will warm the hearts of fans across the globe, and in this new chapter of the franchise, the pair “will finally discover their true destinies: the village chief as ruler of Berk alongside Astrid, and the dragon as leader of his own kind.” This week, a gorgeous first trailer for the movie has been revealed, and you can check it out below:
With the pair ascending to the top of the ranks, the deadliest and most challenging threat they’ve ever faced also comes to the forefront, eager to take them down and claim ultimate power for themselves. Tested like never before, and with the introduction of a female Night Fury dragon, could this be the end of one of the most charming friendships and bonds to ever come from a DreamWorks Animation flick?
Written and directed by Dean DeBlois, The Hidden World once again brings together an all-star cast, including Jay Barachuel, Amanda Ferrera, Cate Blanchett, Kit Harington, Craig Ferguson, and F. Murray Abraham. Brad Lewis and Bonnie Arnold serve as producers on the animated adventure.
The team will be hoping to echo the success of the first two How To Train Your Dragon releases. The first saw takings of $495.8 million in the box office, whilst the sequel exceeding that spectacularly, and brought home $621.5 million. Could The Hidden World do the triple?
