Hugh Grant has been cast opposite Henry Cavill and Armie Hammer in spy adventure 'Man From U.N.C.L.E'.

The smooth-talking Brit has signed on for a supporting role as the head of British Naval Intelligence in Guy Ritchie's upcoming spy flick, according to The Holllywood Reporter.

The film is based on the 1960s TV show of the same name and follows special agents Napoleon Solo (Henry Cavill) and Illya Kuryakin (Armie Hammer), who work for the United Network Command for Law Enforcement (U.N.C.L.E.). Together, they fight the evil agents of rival organisation, THRUSH.

'Anna Karenina' breakout star Alicia Vikander is set to play the female lead, with up-and-coming 'Great Gatsby' actress Elizabeth Debicki also on board for a role.

'Man of Steel' heartthrob Cavill stepped in to replace Tom Cruise in May due to a scheduling conflict with 'Mission Impossible 5'.

Ritchie wrote the script with Lionel Wigram and they will also produce alongside John Davis under their new production banner.

The pair previously teamed up for action-packed blockbusters 'Sherlock Holmes' and sequel 'Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows'.

Best known for his romantic comedy roles, Grant most recently took on several dramatic characters in 'Cloud Atlas'. He is also due to star in Marc Lawrence's as yet untitled comedy about a washed up screenwriter who finds love while teaching at a small town college.
