Jack Reynor has described director Michael Bay as 'a lot of fun.'

Reynor has teamed up with Bay for the first time as one of the new faces on the cast list of Transformers: Age of Extinction.

Age of Extinction marks the biggest role of Reynor's acting career to date, and he has called Bay a director who knows what he wants.

Speaking to the Press Association, the actor said: "I met him in LA and we had a great general meeting together and I'd gone in to do my test with Nicola when Michael was there, so we had a relationship with him at that stage and he's a great dude, a lot of fun."

"He does know what he wants, but he has to ... it took 4,000 people to make this movie, and Michael has to be the one to sign off on every last aspect of it.

"So yeah, he has to get exactly what he wants and the people who are prepared to collaborate with him on that and commit and to be dedicated to that are always the people who do best in his films."

Age of Extinction sees Reynor star alongside Mark Wahlberg, Nicola Peltz, Stanley Tucci, and Kelsey Grammer.

The movie has already grossed $100 million at the U.S. box office this weekend, and is set to be a global smash.

Transformers: Age of Extinction is released 5th July.
