James McAvoy is set to return to the role of Professor Xavier in X-Men: Apocalypse and we are going to see the actor portray this character bald for the first time.

In X-Men: First Class and X-Men: Days of Future Past we have followed a younger Professor X with a full head of hair - something that we are not use to seeing. However, we are now going to see him take up that iconic bald image for the first time.

Director Bryan Singer has taken to Instagram to release the first image of McAvoy with no hair - I really cannot wait to see him in action.

X-Men: Apocalypse is the third time that we have seen McAvoy take on the role of Charles Xavier and this new film comes hot off the heels of the critical and commercial success of Days of Future Past last year.

X-Men: Apocalypse is already one of the most anticipated comic book movies of 2016, and will see McAvoy reunite with Michael Fassbender, Jennifer Lawrence, and Nicholas Hoult. Singer is back in the director's chair after steering Days of Future Past to huge success - this will be the fourth X-Men film of Singer's directing career.

However, there are plenty of new faces on board as Oscar Isaac, Sophie Turner, Tye Sheridan, Alexandra Shipp, and Kodi Smit-McPhee are on board as Apocalypse, Jean Grey, Cyclops, Storm, and Nightcrawler.

Hugh Jackman has also been linked to an appearance as Wolverine, while we might see Channing Tatum take on the role of Gambit for the first time.

X-Men: Apocalypse is released 19th May 2016.
