James McAvoy says that X-Men: Days of Future Past is set to be the 'biggest' and 'most epic' X-men movie ever.

The actor is set to reprise the role of Charles Xavier in the sequel to First Class.

Michael Fassbender and Jennifer Lawrence are also back, while Patrick Stewart, Ian McKella and Hugh Jackman from the original series are on board.

Speaking to IGN UK the actor said: "There’s an army of brilliant actors in that film. Bryan Singer is back at the helm.

"Potentially it’s going to be the biggest, most epic X-Men they’ve ever had.

"I think it’s the second biggest production Fox have ever embarked upon, behind Avatar. So they’re definitely going for it."

McAvoy is back on the big screen this week as he leads an all star cast in Filth; the latest of Irvine Welsh's novels to be adapted into a movie.

The actor has also been linked to Frankenstein, which is directed by Paul McGuigan, in which he is believed to be playing Victor Von Frankenstein.

X-Men: Days of Future Past is released 22nd May 2014.
