Jamie Dornan has revealed that he does not audition well as he struggles to sell himself.

Dornan is one of the most talked about actors around at the moment after landing the role of Christian Grey in Fifty Shades of Grey, but it was TV series The Fall that changed the direction of his career.

The show sees him team up with Gillian Anderson, but he reveals that he did not do a good audition when he turned up to read for the part of Paul Spector.

Speaking to Vogue magazine, the actress said:

"I'm not very good at auditions, I don't sell myself well. I didn't do a good audition for 'The Fall'.

“But the show's writer, Allan Cubitt, saw something in me. I think he had to work pretty hard to convince everyone else.

"'The Fall' changed my life - that's not an overstatement."

Dornan had done some TV and film work before landing the role in The Fall, but it really was this crime role that put him on the map. He is set to return to return to the small screen in the UK this autumn as the second series of The Fall airs.

Fifty Shades of Grey is already one of the most talked about films of 2015, as the best selling novel by E.L. James has been given a big screen makeover by director Sam Taylor Wood.

The movie will see Dornan take on the role of Grey, while Dakota Johnson will star alongside him as Anastasia Steele. Jennifer Ehle, Luke Grimes, Max Martini, and Marcia Gay Harden are just some of the other names that are on board.

Dornan has also completed work on an untitled film by John Wells and is currently filming The 9th Life of Louis Drax.

The 9th Life of Louis Drax is directed by Alexandre Aja and is based on the novel by Liz Jensen. Aaron Paul and Sarah Gadon will star alongside Dornan.
