A Quiet Place 3 delayed

Paramount has recently revealed that A Quiet Place: Part III will be pushed back to September of next year (2023), due to a collection of sweeping delays.

The horror franchise began in 2018, and received a heavy amount of positive, glowing reviews; its sequel seemed to match the adoration for the first movie, leading to a third film being made.

March 31st, 2023 was supposed to see A Quiet Place 3 in cinemas, but now it seems fans will have to wait until September 22nd of that same year to see the Abbott family continue their journey.

Knives Out 2 to release in both cinemas and on Netflix

Knives Out 2, a Rian Johnson film, is reported to be released in cinemas as well as on Netflix in autumn this year, following a festival debut for the sequel.

Knives Out premiered in 2019, and received positive reviews as the whodunit movie has a brilliant plot and star-studded cast, including James Bond actor Daniel Craig, and Marvel’s own Chris Evans.

Both Johnson and Netflix believe the sequel to match, or even surpass the first movie, and with Craig saying it will be rather different from the first, fans cannot wait to gather together in the autumn and see what Knives Out 2 has to offer.

New teen comedy to star Spider-Man and Stranger Things actors

Angourie Rice, who plays Betty Brant in Marvel’s Spider-Man film series, and Gaten Matarazzo, who plays Dustin Henderson in Netflix’s Stranger Things are set to star together in an upcoming Paramount+ teen comedy.

The duo will both star in Honor Society, which sees Rice star as high school senior, Honor, who will seemingly stop at nothing to get into Harvard; however, she needs her school’s counsellor (Christopher Mintz-Plasse) to do so.

Matarazzo takes on the role of Michael, Honor’s biggest competition for Harvard. Honor Society will likely debut sometime this year.

Mad Max prequel set to begin filming soon

George Miller’s Mad Max: Fury Road sequel, titled Furiosa, is reported to begin filming in Australia within the next few months.

Charlize Theron starred as Furiosa in Fury Road, and her character became very popular, perhaps a little less so than Tom Hardy’s Max, but she was still praised by fans, which has led Miller to write a prequel based on her life before the events of Fury Road

Anya Taylor-Joy (Split, Last Night in Soho) has been cast to play a younger version of Theron’s Furiosa, which is great news as the young actress has only increased in popularity in recent years; Chris Hemsworth (Marvel franchise) is also set to star.

Live-action remake of The Aristocats in development at Disney

Disney is currently developing a live-action remake of 1970’s The Aristocats, which followed a group of Persian cats on their journey home.

The script for the upcoming remake is said to be in the hands of Will Gluck (Peter Rabbit) and Keith Bunin (Onward), and will be produced by Gluck’s Olive Bridge Entertainment.

Since the project is in early development, details are scarce. However, it is likely that the movie will look and feel rather similar to the live-action Lady and the Tramp from 2019.

Chicken Run 2 confirmed for 2023

Netflix has recently announced not only the official title for the highly-anticipated Chicken Run sequel, but also a release date.

The stop-motion classic was released in 2000, and remains a beloved movie for many; it still holds the record for the highest-grossing stop-motion animated film ever made. The original gang of chickens are said to return for the sequel.

Chicken Run 2 will officially be titled Chicken Run: Dawn of the Nugget, and will debut on Netflix sometime in 2023.

The Meg 2 to begin shooting in the UK next week

The sequel to 2018 monster movie, The Meg, will begin filming next week (January 24th, 2022), and is set to be shot in the UK.

The Meg starred Jason Statham as main character Jonas, who reluctantly aids a deep-sea rescue mission before discovering that there is something lurking under the surface.

Little is known about the plot for The Meg 2: The Trench, but we do know that Statham and Li Bingbing will reprise their roles from the original; UK shores will be buzzing with activity from next week, no doubt, as the Meg may not be too far away...
