Charlie Day claims the cast of 'Horrible Bosses 2' are still waiting on a script.

The 37-year-old actor - who is to reprise his role as hopeless romantic Dale Arbus in the follow-up to the 2011 comedy movie - has confirmed the sequel will go ahead with the original stars, but producers and writers are still yet to "hone in" on the screenplay.

Speaking to Collider.com, he said: "Yeah, we've been talking about doing another one and everyone has agreed to do it and I know they're sort of kicking the tires on a concept that'll make it worthwhile for doing another movie and trying to hone in on a script.

"I'm waiting to get that at any moment and have conversations with everyone and hopefully we can do something good. But as of now, we're not actually filming anything. We're still just trying to develop it."

The first motion followed three friends - played by Day, Jason Bateman and Jason Sudeikis - who decide to murder their controlling, arrogant, abusive bosses.

The film featured humorous performances from Jennifer Aniston, Colin Farrell and Kevin Spacey as the trio's horrible bosses.

Day, Bateman and Sudeikis are all expected to return for the sequel, while a new cast of bosses will join them.

Brett Ratner and Jay Stern will produce the forthcoming project and John Cheng will be executive producer.
