He may have been in the news recently because of his defence of Boris Johnson's questionable comments about Muslim women who wear the burqa, but when it comes down to his primary profession of being an actor, Rowan Atkinson is amongst the British greats. Returning to his role of Johnny English this year, in Johnny English Strikes Again, fans now have the opportunity to see some of the hilarity we should expect when the sequel makes its way to the big screen. Check out the new trailer for the flick below:
Atkinson will star alongside the likes of Ben Miller, Olga Kurylenko, Jake Lacy and Emma Thompson in the film, which will see Johnny English standing tall as the only hope for Britain's secret service. Threatened with a cyber attack which eventually exposes the identity of all active undercover agents across the UK, English is forced to come out of retirement and dives straight back into the chaos of undercover operations, in a bid to find the mastermind hacker responsible.
Despite his career, he's still a man with few skills and analogue methods, and with modern technology challenging him like never before, it's going to take more effort than ever before for him to be successful.
David Kerr serves as director on the movie, with a story by Robert Wade and William Davies.
Johnny English Strikes Again comes to cinemas across the UK on October 5, 2018.
