Josh Brolin has revealed that he was one of the actors that was considered from the role of Bruce Wayne in Superman vs Batman.

The Oscar nominated star says that he sat down with director Zack Snyder to discuss the project, but it didn't work out.

Speaking to The Huffington Post the actor said: "We did. I didn't have conversations about it, but Zack, that was part of his idea.

"It just didn't turn out. It's OK. It is OK. You know, another scenario might have worked better, but I'm happy for Ben."

Ben Affleck has been cast in the role for the sequel to Man of Steel, and Brolin says he is shocked at the reaction there has been to his casting.

Brolin went on to say that he hopes Affleck 'kicks ass' so that everyone who has criticised the casting can 'eat their words'.

"I've never seen such a global reaction in my life. I feel for him, truly. I would not want to be him right now. The reaction becomes so personal.

"It's like, 'F**k this guy, I wish he was dead'. And you're like, 'What? Dude, seriously? This guy is just working like you are. He's doing the same thing you are. He's trying to make the best choices he can.'

"I just feel for anybody who gets lambasted at that level. I want him to kick ass and I want everyone to love it and kind of eat their words."

As for Brolin we are going to be seeing plenty of him on the big screen as he has completed work on Labour Day, Oldboy, Inherent Vice and Sin City: A Dame to Kill For.
