Josh Brolin says he was 'blown away' when the full Avengers: Infinity War storyline was revealed to him.
Brolin is set to reprise the role of Thanos, a character that has been used sparingly in the MCU so far, but is a character who has been pulling all of the strings.
The Infinity War movies will see Thanos play a much larger role as the main villain in the two films. And Brolin admits that he is excited about where the character and overall story is heading.
Speaking to Moviefone, the actor said: "Yeah, I sat at a table and I listened to the story from beginning to end, which was... you know, sometimes you go around and you go, 'Oh, it's a great movie. Or this is a great experience,' and you kind of know that it's not. This is the opposite... These stories... these Avengers stories all come down to this conclusion, and that's our involvement.
"Basically, my character against everybody. And it's really fun what they've chosen to do with the story. I think it's brilliant, personally. I was blown away, and had goose pimples pretty much 50% of the time that I was listening to what was going on, and pretty amazed that I'm going to be involved in it. So it's a big thing that's coming up."
Anthony and Joe Russo will be back in the director's chair for both movies - it will be the first time that they have helmed a film in the Avengers franchise.
Christopher Markus and Stephen McFeely have penned the film's screenplay and filming is set to get underway in the autumn.
It has not yet been announced which of our favourite heroes will be on the cast list. Are we going to see some of the MCU's biggest names killed off? I guess we are going to have to wait and see.
Before Avengers: Infinity War Part 1 is released, we are going to see Doctor Strange, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 2, Spider-Man: Homecoming, Thor: Ragnarok and Black Panther released.
Avengers: Infinity War - Part 1 is released 27th April 2018. Part 2 will follow a year later.
