The 40-year-old actress has been rumoured to be taking on the role of the X-Men mutant in the sequel to the 2016 smash hit movie 'Deadpool', and whilst nothing has been confirmed the brunette beauty has said she would love to take on the role, but understands that the production team need to cast the "right person".

Speaking to American television programme 'Extra', the star said: "I don't have anything to say about that! [The Deadpool 2 writers] know more than I do. Of course I would [want the part]! But you have to get the right person for whatever role."

Previously, it was announced that Wade Wilson and his Lycra-clad alter ego - played by Ryan Reynolds - would be joined in the movie by two new mutants from the 'X-Men' universe, Domino and Cable.

No actors have yet been confirmed for either role, but it has been speculated that former James Bond actor Pierce Brosnan may be taking on Cable after Ryan shared a photo to Instagram which featured himself, Pierce, and 'Wolverine' star Hugh Jackman.

He captioned the snap: "Wolvie. Bond. Wade."

Hugh - who will be making his eighth and final outing as the clawed mutant in the upcoming movie 'Logan' - also shared the photo, writing: "#wolverinebonddeadpool. (sic)"

Meanwhile, 40-year-old Ryan - who first donned the red and black skin-tight suit in 2009 for an appearance in 'X-Men Origins: Wolverine' - says he isn't done with playing the character just yet.

He said: "I would love to play Deadpool for as long as they would let me play Deadpool. We have outlines and stories for a number of different films."
