Directed by James Marsh comes upcoming movie King of Thieves, based on the infamous true story of the Hatton Garden diamond heist, which has been described as "the biggest and most daring in British history." This week, a thrilling first look trailer for the film has been released, showcasing some of the action we should expect when the flick makes its way to the big screen this September. Check it out below:
Produced by Working Title Films for STUDIOCANAL, an A-list cast comes together for King of Thieves including Sir Michael Caine, Jim Broadbent, Ray Winstone, Michael Gambon, Tom Courtenay and Charlie Cox. Joe Penhall penned the script for the film, and BAFTA-winning pair Tim Bevan and Eric Fellner serve as producers, alongside Ali Jaafar and Michelle Wright.
Though the film is one based on real events that took place in April 2015, the story seems to be being told through humour, with even Marvel Comics superhero Spider-Man getting a shoutout in the trailer.
Exactly how much of the movie will be drawn from exactly what took place, and how much will be born out of artistic license remains to be seen, but one thing's for sure: this is certainly one of the most anticipated crime flicks of the year.
With the above family-friendly trailer, STUDIOCANAL have also dropped the "full f***ing trailer", which you can check out below:
King of Thieves comes to cinemas across the UK on September 14, 2018.
