Evans is part of the all-star cast of the live-action adaptation of the Disney film and will take on the role of Gaston.

And Evans admits that he loved 'every second' that he was able to sing during the shoot.

Speaking to E! News, the actor said: "It's a wonderful joy to actually get to sing on screen. It's what I did for ten years of my life in the West End, so to finally do it on screen was a really wonderful moment for me and I loved every second of it."

A fantastic cast has been assembled for the film as Evans is joined by Emma Watson, Dan Evans, Ewan McGregor, Ian McKellen, Josh Gad, Emma Thompson, Stanley Tucci, Kevin Kline, and Gugu Mbatha-Raw are all on board.

The film also sees Bill Condon back in the director's chair for his first feature film since Mr. Holmes last year.

And Evans had nothing but great things to say about the film and hints that it is going to be a 'treat' for audiences.

He continued: "They're going to be over the moon. It's a real treat. It'll be a wonderful thing for the people who remember the animation and for the young ones who've never seen the animation, to see this live-action portrayal."

Beauty and the Beast is the latest live-action Disney film and will follow Maleficent, Cinderella, and The Jungle Book, which have all enjoyed huge box office success.

Evans will be back on the big screen later this year with thriller The Girl on the Train, which sees him star alongside Emily Blunt. He has also completed work on Message from the King.

Beauty and the Beast is released 17th March 2017.
