Luke Evans has thrown his support behind Peter Jackson's decision to chat the title of the third Hobbit film.

The final film in the instalment was called The Hobbit: There And Back Again, but last month it was announced that it would now be titled The Hobbit: Battle of the Five Armies.

Speaking to Digital Spy, the actor said: "I actually think it's absolutely right because when it was two films There and Back Again would've been the second film's title. Now it's three films it's become redundant.

"We have the Battle of the Five Armies which we focus on, it's a very important part of the story. I think it's right, I think it's appropriate that it's changed and I think Peter would've thought about it with a lot of care.

"I think the decision's right - when you see the film you'll understand exactly why."

Evans will reprise his role as Bard the Bowman in the final film - a character we were introduced to for the first time in The Desolation of Smaug last year.

Evans will also be back on the big screen this year in Dracula Untold. He is also set to take over the role of Eric Draven in a remake of The Crow.

The Hobbit: Battle of the Five Armies is released 12th December.
