Lupita Nyong'o

Lupita Nyong'o and Gwendoline Christie are the two latest names to join the cast list of Star Wars: Episode VII.

It was revealed earlier this year that Nyong'o had met J.J. Abrams to discuss a possible role in the latest instalment of the popular franchise: however, it has not been revealed what role she will play.

Christie is best known for her role as Brienne in Game of Thrones, and has not been linked to this film prior to the announcement of her casting.

Star Wars: Episode VII is the second high profilm Christie has recently signed on to star in, as we are also going to be seeing her in the final two instalments of The Hunger Games.

Nyong'o and Christie will join John Boyega, Daisy Ridley, Adam Driver, Oscar Isaac, Andy Serkis, and Domhnall Gleeson as the new faces on the cast list.

It has already been a great year for Nyong'o, after scooping the Best Supporting Actress Oscar for her breakthrough performance in Twelve Years A Slave.

She has also been linked to roles in Who Shot the Sherriff and Southpaw.

Christie is currently enjoying success with the fourth season of Game of Thrones, and will be back on the big screen as Commander Lyme in The Hunger Games: Mockingjay - Part 1 at the end of the year.

Filming is already underway on Star Wars: Episode VII, and the movie will be released 18th December, 2015.
