Man of Steel

Man of Steel

Man of Steel will set the tone for any future movies according to producer Chris Roven.

Superman is back on the big screen this summer for the first time since 2006 and there is set to be a darker feel to the franchise this time around.

Zack Snyder is in the director's chair for the movie while Christopher Nolan will serve as producer and David S. Goyer has penned the screenplay.

Speaking to Entertainment Weekly he said: "[Man of Steel's] setting the tone for what the movies are going to be like going forward.

"In that, Man of Steel is definitely a first step. What Zack [Snyder] and Chris [Nolan] have done with it is allow you to really introduce other characters into the same world."

Henry Cavill has taken over the role of Superman in what is the biggest role of his movie career to date.

This is the first big screen outing for the actor since The Cold Light of Day as the movie sees him team up with Amy Adams, Russell Crowe and Kevin Costner.

Man of Steel is released June 14th
